Are you saying I should be jealous of a team that hasn't won a SuperBowl since they got caught cheating in 2003? I'll take being clearly better than you now over tarnished trophies from a decade ago, LOL.
who knows Malache, Im just happy that none of my friends were up there when the bombs went off, as that is normally where they go to watch the marathon. I just send my prayers out to boston, and hope that they find whoever did this and make them pay
The First Responders is a gaming community for past/present or futured Public Safety (Police, Fire, EMS) and Military personnel.
Founded in 2004 on the Xbox we have been competing online ever since. In that time we have gradually grown to include World of Warcraft, Star Wars The Old Republic and League of Legends to the stable of games we officially support. To date we have over 150 members either actively competing or playing socially across all the platforms we have incorporated and we continue to grow steadily.
We pride ourselves on being able to provide a relaxed, fun atmosphere while still remaining competitive in whatever game we choose to participate in. Choosing a model of longevity rather than short term success, we value people over talent (though talent is still nice). This approach has provided us with many accomplishments and championships over the years, and will for years to come.
If you have any questions or comments then please let us know. If you are interested in applying for one of our branches please fill out an application and the appropriate Officer will contact you shortly. Thank you for visiting our website!
Just a quick update for those attending PAX East with us this year and a bit of info for those that unfortunately can't.
For those going we are now less than a week away, and as those who have gone before we are now less than a week away from one of the most enjoyable weekends you will be thinking and talking about for the next year. As many of you know I've put a bunch of information up in the forums over the past few weeks regarding PAX and the experience you are about to have. I have also put up our room assignments list this morning, I tried to factor in personal relationships and the different divisions with TFR when coming up with the room list. I believe this year is we have a very diverse group going from within TFR which didn't make anything easy, if you would like a change ... please let me know and we will see what can be worked out.
A standing tradition for those that know is we have our annual Pre-PAX dinner on Thursday night. As we've stated and experienced in the past come Friday morning the thought of food and eating healthy are defiantly secondary in nature compared to everything else you will see and experience over the next 3 days. So the Pre-PAX dinner gives us a good opportunity to enjoy a good meal and really get to know our fellow TFR members before the hustle and activity of PAX itself sets in. This years dinner will be held at Salvatore's again, just around the corner from the hotel. We held it there last year and from what I recall the food was good and there were no major complaints and they had a lot of variety for the picky eaters in the group (Matt). I have reservations set for Thursday night at 8pm so that everyone can get settled in before rushing off to our first engagement.
I know personally I will be attending the keynote and Q&A afterward. For those that are new to PAX this means getting up early and one of the first in line. This also means that you will not be one of the first in the world to play whatever new demo is out BUT you will get to enjoy a good story (hopefully ... damn you Jordan) and afterward one of the funniest Q&A's you will ever sit through. As my wife stated after last years the Q&A made the preceding keynote well worth the wait and almost death by boredom. I have a thread in the forums for those interested in attending the keynote ... or better yet what people's plans are for Friday morning.
Twitter / Facebook
For those attending, and for those that aren't, I will be posting to Twitter and Facebook from time to time to keep everyone updated on our status. I have made extra precautions to make sure my phone's battery can hold up to a day of in and out of service so I expect that I will be able to update everyone accordingly. I have also added our Twitter feed to the website here in the event you don't have Twitter and wish to follow along at home. For those that wish to follow along directly we can be found @T_F_R and of course on Facbook.
